NGC Expert Comments:
Few Registry categories are more fiercely pursued than the GSA Hard Pack Morgan Dollars from Carson City, and leading the Complete Set, Including Varieties category is no small feat. Yet Terry A’s set, The Yellow Roses, does just that—by a staggering 50,000-point margin. Nearly complete at 92%, the set earns its distinction through condition. More than half the coins are Top Pop, and three—1881-CC, 1883-CC, and 1884-CC—have received the lofty MS67DPL grade. GSA holders with coins of this caliber are rarely seen. What truly wowed the judges, however, were the 1879-CC varieties, both graded MS65+. To assemble such a high-grade representation of these iconic western silver dollars in their original government holders is a rare achievement. This set is pure Western wonder.
